I have it! After long drawn out thinking I have come up with the three, real, best ways to fix the country. First off, let me say, that on a deep level, there really is nothing wrong with the country. Fundamentally the concepts of Capitalism and Democracy are great. Without either we wouldn't have be able to enjoy the freedoms that we do today. Yes, despite what you may think, you really are living in a great country that is in no way heading towards socialism. Please read what socialism means before even thinking about suggesting it. Now, Capitalism can get out of control a bit. Bill Maher has a great fact at his disposal. Just four hundred people make the same amount as 150 million people in this country. Now, if you believe in capitalism, you really can't fault them. They aren't doing anything illegal, they are just maxing out their capitalist needs. I am sitting here writing this while looking at the baby monitor of my two month old. She is sleeping happily in her crib and oblivious to the world. One week ago at this time she was crying like mad and I was walking her back and forth down the hall trying to soothe her. My wife said she was reading a book called, Healthy Sleep Habits, Healthy Baby by Dr. Marc Weissbluth and it recommended putting her down quickly. So, in hopes of not losing my sanity, I got a kindle version of the book and began reading. The first few stories of other parents is what really caught my attention. Another couple, just like us, were putting their baby to bed very late and dealing with an upset baby. They talked to Dr. Weissbluth and he recommended putting her down in her crib very early, like 7ish, and just leaving her there. I know I know. I posted on here one year go that the IPAD was mostly useless. A neat toy for people with a disposable income and nothing better to do on a Sunday morning. That all may very well be true for the IPAD, I don't own and IPAD and will, but for the newest version, IPAD 2, its far from the truth. I recently received my IPAD 2 and immediately starting playing on it. I added all of the standard apps, Netflix, DropBox, Kindle, and began adding a few new ones. I have to say that the power of the IPAD lies in its apps. There really are apps for everything out there. But Apps alone don't make a tablet. The device itself is really quite amazing. Operating it is really a dream. It's fast, smooth and pops between apps quickly. Though I can't use Flash, I'm really not missing it. Those sites that have upgraded to HTML 5 work quite fine and those that don't probably have an App. Fora.tv, one of my favorite websites, has an app for that. I ... More

I live in Washington DC, along the up and coming H street corridor. I did not vote for Mr. Gray. To me it seemed that the only reason he was getting any votes was because everyone hated Adrian Fenty. Gray was just the better choice because, well, Fenty was being an asshole. Rule one of politics, appease, appease, appease. Fenty didn't do that and now he's no longer mayor. Gray has had a pretty rough go at it so far. Lots of rumors of misconduct and investigations into his campaign. His approval rating is low and, honestly, he hasn't even done anything yet. The big worry about Gray is that he will return to Marion Barry style politics. That is, putting people into government jobs that really aren't qualified for them. And, sure enough, it appears that he may be doing just that. Rumors fly about friends, sons, criminals, being put into high ranking DC jobs. Yes, I said it. Please piss off and form your own country. Because of you, women with little resources are now denied federal funding for abortions. And while we're at it, why is it that you both hate abortions AND planned parenthood? Planned Parenthood are passing out condoms and talking about prevention and education. Oh, that's right, you don't like education too. Got it. I am to the point now where I feel anyone that is a tea party supporter is an idiot. Do yourselves a favor, stop listening to Rush Limbaugh, stop watching Fox news and find some real information. Granted, all news agencies have some degree of spin, but Fox news and Rushy aren't news agencies. They are opinionated assholes.
