Three Philosophers beer is some pretty good ale
I recently ran into a four pack of Three Philosophers beer in Harris Teeters down on Pennsylvania Avenue on Capitol Hill in Washington Dc. It’s good. And yes, I am drowning my sorrows of our recent diagnosis in alcohol. And yes, I said I wouldn’t talk about it again but I lied, so sod off. And yes, I’m drunk.
So, if you go to Harris Teeters, or any good grocery store that sells quality beer, and see Three Philosophers, go ahead an give it a try, it’s not bad. It’s in the tradition of Belgian beers, though not a Belgian beer itself. It’s made by the folks at Ommegang Brewery, a US located brewery.
That said, life really f’n sucks sometimes. After our diagnosis I really find it hard to have to go back to work tomorrow. Sit in an office and deal with pointless crap that just doesn’t matter. I’d sound like a super geek if I said, “Only life matters”, cause that’s from the Fifth Element, great movie. But it’s still true.
And I really find it hard to think a God exists that would make such a horrible thing like Trisomy 18 happen. Fuck. I’m exhausted from being upset over this. And I still can’t believe it. It’s like part of me just doesn’t believe this happened. But it did. Life is that thing that happens when you are busy fucking off.
I’m now down to my last beer. It’s not a Three Philosophers, just a Sarnac. Still ok, but not as potent. I think I’ll go to Granville Moores sometime this week to get some real Belgian ales. It’s a great bar on H Street in NE DC. The chef there kicked Bobby Flay’s ass in that Throwdown show of his. I hate Bobby Flay.
Enough rambles for tonight. Here’s a scoop for the future, I am starting a new blog called www.foodindc.com. I plan on going to dives, nice joints, and critiquing beer. Something to pass the time. I also plan on throwing in my hat into self publishing. I’ve written two books, might as well try to publish them and see what happens. Once I have them edited I’ll be sure to post links to them.
